Karan Johar is overwhelmed as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham completes 20 years, posts a video taking us down the memory lane
One of Karan Johar’s directorial ventures, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham has remained the audience’s favourite for years now. Today the film clocks 20 years of its release, this multi-starrer was released in theatres on December 14, 2001, which went on to become a milestone. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, on this day 20 years later KJo thanked everyone associated with this megahit. He shared a video on Instagram with his voice over.
Taking us down memory lane, posted a video that was a compilation of the iconic scenes from the movie. It also had BTS scenes. In the video, he is heard thanking the entire cast, DOP Kiran Deohans for beautifully capturing the scenes, designer Manish Malhotra for creating outfits that were trendsetters. Set designer Sharmishta Roy for creating lavishing sets. Choreographer turned director Farah Khan for directing the dance numbers which are still played during weddings. Karan Johar is just overwhelmed as this directorial venture is not just a film but more than it.
The video also featured the filmmaker’s late father Yash Johar speaking about this iconic movie. Karan Johar sharing the video wrote in his caption, “Overwhelmed with the endless love that has poured in from all corners of the world and the industry for celebrating this grand milestone that #KabhiKhushiKabhieGham hits today.
